Is your executive leadership team on the same page?

Once upon a time…

As CEO, I had the practice of bringing our newest team members together for lunch, 90-days into their time with us, to ask them about their early experience with our firm. I wanted the perspective of “fresh eyes”. In one such lunch, one of our new team members asked, “Why does the leadership act like you’re on the same page when clearly you’re not?”

Ouch.

That question taught me a powerful lesson. It’s one thing to attract and place great leaders. It’s another thing to get them on the same page, in sync, or whatever metaphor you’d like to use.

Consulting with executive teams.

Whether coming alongside on a project basis or for a season in a fractional role, my approach to consulting is simply to provide focused capacity using proven tools and regular coaching to equip a team for its future.

Foundations.

From the basics of Mission, Vision, and Values to creating a strategic plan that is simple, clear and executable, my work in this area is to facilitate, to literally “make easy” a process where a team understands its priorities and has the guiding rhythms and discipline to get the right things done.

Alignment.

It’s been said that anyone can produce results when all the conditions are right. But what about when they’re not? Research unquestionably shows that teams that can hold each other accountable, value interdependence, manage conflict constructively, and commit to established protocols have what it takes to achieve and maintain high performance.

Design.

This is about understanding organizational structure, principal accountabilities in key roles, who’s bringing what to the table, and how that feeds our status in our organization’s life cycle.
